Maulana Azad Medical College- Organising Partner

This institute currently ranked 3rd in the country by India today & Times of India is spread over a campus in 122 acres. Attached to the college are 4 other institutes – Lok Nayak Hospital, GB Pant Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research, Maulana Azad Institute of Dental sciences and Guru Nanak Eye Center. It is one of the best place for learning with 2800 beds, 7200 daily outpatient attendance and 47 operation theatres running daily. It caters to 290 undergraduate students, 245 post graduate and post doctoral students per year being trained by 426 faculty members and 810 resident doctors.

The college made a very humble beginning in 1958 with the erstwhile Irwin hospital (now the Lok Nayak Hospital) attached to it. The college is named after a great patriot and educationist, Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad and stands today as an epitome of medical excellence.

The mission of the college is to provide excellent knowledge as well as rigorous training that will prepare the students to meet the professional and scientific challenges that will dominate the 21st century. As developed and developing countries strive to address pressing health challenges in the complex healthcare environment, collaboration between partners is essential in ensuring proper delivery of the most appropriate care for patients worldwide.

In November 2021, a consensus was developed among collaborators, both from Low- and Middle- Income Countries and High- Income Countries, to address pressing health challenges in the complex healthcare environment. 

A congress was called to bring together a multidisciplinary group with a common vision to improve quality of life by promoting safe, affordable and accessibility to surgery through innovation, and, ICIGS 2022 is the result of that. This conference is suitable for Engineers, Designers, Surgeons, Investors and Researchers alike.

The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh- Supporting Partner

The Faculty of Remote and Rural Healthcare was formally launched in November 2018 by The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, incorporating Humanitarian in its structure in August 2020.

The faculty was established in response to the need identified within both industry and the public health arena to define, review and set standards of competence for organisations as well as medical and non-medical personnel delivering healthcare in remote and rural environments. 

Our primary objective is to “improve the health outcomes of individuals living and working in remote, rural, austere and life threatening areas of the world”.

Our vision is to establish, promote and develop a diverse global community of healthcare professionals operating across public, private and third sectors within a number of diverse industries. This will be developed through our Capabilities Framework which you can find out more about here.

Medical Cobotics Centre (MCC) – Supporting Partner

Medical Cobotics Centre is a collaboration between IHFC- I-Hub foundation for Cobotics, TIH – IIT Delhi and iHub Anubhuti, TIH- IIIT Delhi. MCC is a centre of excellence to provide education, training, and skill development for Medical/Engineering/Science Students, Doctors, Surgeons, Engineers, Paramedical Staff, and other relevant personnel, creating best-in-class infrastructure for Research and Development (R&D) in the field of Medicine, Healthcare devices and equipment as well as offer a robust Startup Ecosystem for nurturing startups in this domain.

Asian Medical Students’ Association India – Outreach Partner

AMSA-India is a student-led, not-for-profit, non-political, non-governmental medical students organisation which started in 2011 and spread its roots throughout the country with a 10000+ member base from 300+ prestigious medical colleges of the country. It represents students interest in all spheres of the society and thus provides an excellent platform for their improvement.

Three areas continuously strive to further in our members and peers through our organisational mission:

Knowledge: We promote scientific and medical activities to increase and expand our knowledge whilst training to become the medical professionals of the future.

Indian Medical Association – Junior Doctors’ Network

Every year there are about 45,000 fresh medical graduates joining the medical profession with already existing 8,50,000 practicing doctors in our country. More than in any profession there is a need to engage them, train and mould them to become a complete doctor. The Medical profession is advancing with newer discoveries and innovations every day and the issues in the doctor patient relationship are also on the rise. The more experienced doctors could impart their experience to the young doctors for our own good and that of our patients.

To achieve the goal of bringing all the young doctors of our country under one roof i.e., IMA, IMA Head Quarters New Delhi, Started this new initiative IMA Junior Doctors Network.

GASOC: “An all-encompassing trainee group with a focus on global surgery”
WHO WE ARE
GASOC (Global Anaesthesia, Surgery and Obstetric Collaboration) was established in 2015 to encourage trainees and SAS doctors (specialist, associate specialist and specialty doctors) to engage responsibly and impactfully in global surgery. This collaboration acts as an entry-level platform to signpost trainees and SAS Drs to information and resources that will enable them to further their knowledge and experience in this field. The goal is to increase trainee engagement in global surgery activity during their training and to facilitate career-long leadership commitment post qualification.


Our strategy:

Collaborate – Share medical knowledge and experience with colleagues to advocate for improvement in surgical outcomes in low & middle-income countries.
